Coastline - Lacey Starfish

Representing our stunning deep purple starfish we often find on our beaches here on Vancouver Island, I've created these three starfish out of MDF. They have been hand cut and shaped. Hot glue was used to create the 'bumps' and texture they often have. Lace fabric was used to add the colour variation and pattern using spray paint. The backer is made from spalted maple with a walnut double frame. A mocha coloured acrylic was used for splines to reinforce the corners.

This piece comes complete with a hanger on the back.
