"Confidence"
Over 40 hours of work went into the creation of this statement piece. A matte black background is framed in solid walnut with a bright blue inner frame to compliment the colours in the peacock. A router was used to create an ornate detail to the edge of the walnut frame to match the elegance of the bird.
This peacock was drawn by hand using the Procreate app and transferred to wood to be cut by hand on my scroll saw. The stack cut method was used to achieve different layers and dimension. A rotary tool was used to shape and carve each individual piece before sanding by hand and applying a primer. After a second round of hand sanding, each piece was thoughtfully spray painted. A total of 22 different paint colours were used in this piece including small hints of metallic gold.
This piece comes complete with a cleat hanger on the back.
