"Rewilding" - letting nature take care of itself.
This piece centers on a weathered deer skull, bleached by time & nestled in a cradle of wild, blooming florals & fungi. Vivid bursts of life emerging from the remnants of death. Twisting vines & blossoms spill from the eye sockets & antlers, reclaiming the bone with colour & vitality. The contrast between decay & bloom evokes the core of rewilding: nature's quiet insistence on return, renewal & balance.
The backer for this piece is made from spalted maple with a walnut frame. Subtle splines are in the face of each corner to ensure stability over time. As always, this piece is 100% hand cut and shaped. "Lace" detailing is present on the mushroom caps & greenery.
This piece comes complete with a cleat hanger.
