How I became a full time scroll saw artist + creator
In 2014, I was suffering from severe postpartum depression and anxiety and I was desperately seeking an outlet that could be all my own. I started making decor for my daughter’s room starting with hand-painted quotes on pallet wood. Friends and family started asking me to make things for them and I finally got the nerve to post something for sale on Facebook. The demand took off from there.
I went back to work full-time as an RN but started feeling a pull toward my creative side and started resenting the shift work and demands (physical & emotional) that came with being a nurse. Quite simply, I fell out of love with it.
After baby number 2 I was at the place in my side hustle where I felt comfortable stepping back to part-time nursing. After baby number 3 I resigned completely and have never looked back!
I started using the scroll saw to add a 3D dimension to my work in 2017 and am self-taught in all aspects of this business.

What is WWC?
I specialize in scroll saw and laser art from my home to yours. I create original, one-of-a-kind scroll saw artwork, sold as individual collection launches throughout the year. I also create a selection of personalized scroll saw and ready-to-ship laser art that is available year-round.
I have worked tirelessly to perfect my craft (still am) and I think the evolution of art is the most exciting thing for any artist. Looking back, I can’t believe how far my work has come and I’m so thankful for every mistake & bump in the road that got me here.
In addition to physically creating home décor items, I want Wild Wood Creative by Lauren Bedard to be a brand that encourages others, women and men, to pursue their passion in the handmade industry.
I have a passion for teaching and cheering on other creatives in all aspects of their businesses, especially in building skills to progress their art to the next level. (That's where you will continue to see templates & tutorials on the For Makers page!) There’s room for everyone in this industry and I truly believe each person brings something special to the table.
