I mean, who doesn't love orchids?
This backer is made from strips of Cherry wood and is framed with solid walnut. The entire backer has been oiled using cutting board oil to help protect the wood and also make the grain pop. Splines have been added to the corners to help reinforce the mitre joint.
These hand drawn orchids were cut on my scroll saw and strategically shaped for dimension and realism. Neutral colours that compliment the wood on the backer were used and a matte top coat seals the design.
This piece comes complete with a hanger on the back.
